Day two here in the Philippines and I am glad to say I only had a head ache for an hour due to the HEAVY pollution. So, I think that means I am starting to get use to it. This city is seems to be like every other city in the US except for the extreme pollution. Everyone so far has been extremely nice and helpful. I stand out like an albino Filipino.
The food here is dirt cheap and it is brought to you on a platter where ever you are. I mean that Mike's maid is wonderful, as soon as I get up in the morning she promptly asks me what I want to eat. Then today for lunch she made me noodles, some sort of curry chicken and tofu with veggies. I then sent her out to exchange my American money for pesos. Yes, she is a wonderful woman. She completely does everything for now, five men in the apartment, so yes I also feel sorry for her since she only makes 80 American dollars a month.
This is the view from Mike's place in Makti which is an outer part of Manila.

So you can imagine that this is only here for Touristas. Since the average Filipino makes 5 bucks a day they can shop here once a year if they don't eat.
Star bucks are everywhere here. I mean everywhere about every two blocks. These folks love their Jello. I am trying everything that I can not get in the U.S. and this is a Coffee Jello Frapaccino. A mouth full of Jello with every drink mmmmm. Since the drinks are the same price as they are in the U.S. I am not sure why they drink so many of them.
I saw this beautiful scene by the main tourist harbor in Manila. Then there was a dude skin diving in this getting fish. Seems like people will do any thing out of desperation???
I meant to add this photo in the other blog about chris's bachelor party.
Thanks for all the comments I would write more but I have to get going I have used about 60 pesos worth of internet time and I dont want to go broke this early in the trip. I will talk all about my good and back deeds I have done while I have been here.

Nick - great picture of us... that's all I really care about when it comes to this trip of yours to the Philippines.... mainly pictures of me before you left.
Go broke with 60 pesos of internet time? That's like what...$1.25?? I was thinking about donating, but after reading your blog, if I donate anything, I want it all to go to your maid.
And here's a money saving tip. Buy a loaf of bread and put it in the freezer. lol.
All i have to say is your phillipino mother needs a raise and the garbage in the water broke my heart but its good to know that you are getting your daily fix of pollution and jello
love ya and miss ya
be safe
Way to support your local Starbucks! What flavor was the Jello?
I think that nice lady definitely needs to make some serious extra money while you guys are there! I would have paid money to see the look on your face when you woke up and she asked what you wanted to eat.
Have you told her about that "thing" in your back?
Wooow! You're starting the summer out right! ;) Didn't realize how crowded and polluted it is there! Been to any night clubs or bars yet? Be safe & have fun! :)
Wow it seems like you are having a little to much fun with the maid, make sure you share your wealth with her. Maybe you should go buy some local clothes so you dont stick out so much :). Have fun and make sure all that beer you are drinking was not made from that water in your picture !!!
